Backups

Backups of Data

Full backups of our servers are performed with no interruption to service each night, with all backup data being mirrored to multiple separate hard drives for redundancy.
In the event of a server failing we are able to roll-back the server to a previous-point in time or using disaster recovery recreate a failed server onto one of our redundant backup servers.
Our backups include; All Web Server Files, SQL Server Databases, mySQL Databases, Mail Servers,Fully-Managed Dedicated Servers, Control Panel, Webmail, and Statistics.

As an extra service we are able to offer to our Hosting Client"s a recovery service of their website and database data to a previous point-in-time for both changed and accidentally deleted files, although we do charge at a rate of R300 per hour which becomes dependent on the size of the backup being retrieved.

Each night our backup service looks at each file, if the file has been changed since the last backup our backup service will store the changed file. The service keeps the last 7 revisions (changes) to files, allowing us to restore your websites files or database to a previous point-in-time. Clients may request files or databases to be rolled back to a previous point-in-time.

SQL Server Database Backup

Full backups of all SQL Server databases are created each night during off-peak hours with no interruption to service and are stored for 7 days on a separate drive on the same server. This allows us to easily retrieve the backups if a client requests this. Secondly we also backup the full drive nightly onto a backup server as a secondary precaution.

mySQL Server Database Backup

Full backups of all mySQL Server databases are created each night during off-peak hours with no interruption to service and are stored for 7 days on a separate drive on the same server. This allows us to easily retrieve the backups if a client requests this. Secondly we also backup the full drive nightly onto a backup server as a secondary precaution.

Cancelled Services
If a client decides to cancel a service with us and later requires a backup of the website, drive contents(Fully- Managed Servers), etc. We in no way can and will be held accountable if backups do not exist. We recommend that all clients inform us prior to cancellation if this is what they will or do require from us. Note if they require us to keep a backup for 7 days after cancellation we do require an email before the cancellation process takes effect.
