HOWTO: Send a screenshot to Support

Problem/Summary

This article explains how to create a screenshot and email it to Support. Screenshots are usefull in diagnosing certain problems.


Steps


  1. Press "print screen" button on your keyboard. This is located near the top
    of the keyboard usually and has the writing PrtSc / Sysrq on it (or variation
    thereof). Advanced tip: Press ALT-PRINTSCREEN to grab just the active window.







  2. Load Microsoft Paint: Start -> Run. Type "MSPAINT". Press enter





  3. Paste the sceenshot: Press CTRL-V to paste the image.

  4. Save the image: Press CTRL-S, choose file type "PNG" as this provides the best compression for screenshots most of the time.


  5. Attach the image to the email and send it to Support
