What is an Email Header?
An Email Header is the information that travels with every email, containing sender, router and receiver details.

How do I locate Email Headers on various mail applications?
Microsoft Outlook 2010:
1.Double click on the desired message to open it in a new window.
2.Click the Options expander button at the top right hand section of the message navigation screen.
This will open a new window showing your Message Settings and the Internet Headers.
3.Check the Internet Headers box for details about the email.
In this screen you can see the email address that any replies will be sent to, along with where the email will actually go.
The destination of the message is in the Internet Headers pane called "Return-Path."
Microsoft Outlook 2007:
1.Open an email message.
2.On the Message tab in the Options group, click on the Dialog Box Launcher.
In the Message Options dialog box, the headers appear in the Internet Headers box.
Outlook Express:
1.Open an email message using a double click.
2.From the File menu, click Properties.
3.A window like this one will open with the General Information showing.
Click the Details tab.
Mozilla Thunderbird:
1.Select the email message you’d like to see the headers of.
2.Press CTRL+U or click View from the menu bar and select Message Source.
3.The headers will now be displayed in a new window.
